Following the decisions reached at the special senate meeting held on Thursday, May 14, 2026, the OAU management has released the revised academic calendar for the 2025/2026 Rain Semester. The structure of the semester remains 13 weeks of lectures, a one-week lecture-free period and a three-week examination period, although several key dates have been adjusted from the original schedule.
In the former calendar, lectures were scheduled to run continuously from March 30 to June 27. However, in the revised calendar, lectures will now run from March 30 to April 22, and then continue after the break from May 20 to July 24, still maintaining a total of 13 lecture weeks.
The lecture-free week, which was originally fixed for June 29 to July 3, has also been shifted. It will now hold from July 27 to July 31, 2026, marking a clear adjustment to accommodate the revised lecture flow.
Similarly, the semester examination, which was initially set for July 6 to July 25, has now been rescheduled to August 3 to August 22, 2026. Although the examination period remains three weeks, the dates have been moved forward significantly.
Overall, while the total duration of key academic activities remains unchanged, the revised academic calendar reflects major shifts in lecture blocks, the lecture-free week, and the examination period. These adjustments help realign the semester following the disruption and ensure that all academic requirements are completed within the adjusted timeframe.
