The Great Ife Student Union, Obafemi Awolowo University, through its Transport Management Commission, has announced the resumption of operations of 50 Town Igboro buses within the university.
According to the release, the buses will begin operations from Monday, June 8 as part of efforts to improve transport services and ease movement for students and members of the university community.
The commission stated that transport fares charged by the Town Igboro buses will remain unchanged, maintaining the rates that were in effect before the recent transportation adjustments on campus.
It further disclosed that discussions are ongoing with relevant stakeholders to determine regulated fares for the newly introduced shuttle buses. The approved rates will be communicated to students and the university community once finalised.
The Students’ Union appreciated students for their patience and cooperation, assuring them of its commitment to improving transport services across the campus.
