ESAN Introduces New Guidelines For Faculty Usage

On December 20, 2024, an internal memorandum was circulated by Team Anagennites (ESAN Excos) outlining the new guidelines and protocols regarding the usage of faculty facilities. Before this, an incident occurred early in the morning on December 19, 2024, which is suspected to have prompted the new guidelines stipulated by the Excos of the faculty.

ESAN Guidelines

A female member of ESAN was harassed by an unknown individual in the faculty basement while she was asleep. She had gone to the faculty to study overnight. Although she could not identify the individual, he ran away.

To prevent such unfortunate incidents from happening again and to “maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment” within the faculty, the following guidelines have been established:

The memorandum clarified that the EDBs are now strictly for Esanites, and non-Esanites are prohibited from using the lecture rooms. Additionally, commercial tutorials have been banned from using the specified lecture rooms. Any tutorial caught violating this will be sanctioned.

Other ESAN guidelines include:

– Keep the lecture rooms and faculty basement clean and tidy by properly disposing of trash and recyclables.

– Respect the furniture and electrical equipment, avoiding any form of vandalism or damage.

– Sit properly and do not sit on the tables.

– Switch off lights, fans, and other electrical appliances when not in use or when leaving the lecture room.

– Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the restrooms.

– Report any maintenance issues or concerns to the faculty administration promptly.

– Respect the privacy of others and refrain from loitering in the restrooms.

– Be mindful of noise levels in the faculty, avoiding disruptions to lectures and other activities.

– Report any incidents or concerns to the faculty administration or security personnel.

In all, the purpose of these guidelines is to ensure that the faculty remains clean, conducive, and well-maintained.

Esanites are enjoined to be vigilant and careful while studying overnight at the faculty.
