Lucky Aiyedatiwa emerged victorious in the Ondo State governorship election, winning all 18 local government areas. This decisive win was confirmed by the Independent National Electoral Commission after Aiyedatiwa’s impressive performance in Ese Odo Local Government Area, the last result was announced at the State Collation Centre in Akure on Sunday.
Also, Aiyedatiwa, the candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), garnered an impressive 366,781 votes, outpacing his opponent Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who secured 117,845 votes.
The announcement was made by Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, the State Returning Officer, who declared Aiyedatiwa elected, having satisfied the legal requirements.
This victory solidifies Aiyedatiwa’s position as the leader of Ondo State, building on his previous as Deputy Governor from 2021 to 2023 and again from December 13, 2023. His experience and leadership have earned him the trust of the people and he is now set to continue his work as Governor of Ondo State.
This win marks a significant milestone in Aiyedatiwa’s political career and he is expected to continue his efforts to develop and improve Ondo State.
