A New Era: ACJ-OAU Inaugurates 52nd Executive Council

A new Era dawned on ACJ-OAU as it inaugurated its 52nd executive council into office. The three-in-one event held on the 26th of June, including the association’s annual dinner and award, saw the attendance of campus journalists from various news agencies on the OAU campus.

In the speech presented by the erstwhile president, Gbolahan Latinwo, he described his experience with the outgoing executives of the association as nothing short of amazing.

He commented on their resilience and camaraderie, which made the administration successful.

While commending each executive member of the dissolved council for a job well done, he urged the newly sworn-in executives to uphold the untainted legacy of the association.

The 52nd president of the association, Olabode Obafemi, a final year student of the Department of Political Science who served as the Public Relations officer of the previous administration, expressed gratitude toward the 51st executive council for the remarkable work done and promised to continue to sustain the legacy.

 

The newly sworn-in cabinet members are:

Olabode Obafemi – President

Olatimehin Esther – Vice President

Tolulope Adeniran – Chairman, Guild of Editors

David Ogunlade – Public Relations Officer

Sharon Amosu – General Secretary

Matthew Ogunwale – Assistant General Secretary

Mercy Ojegbola – Financial Secretary 

Additionally, awards and certificates of service were presented to Adejumo Kabir Essay Competition winners and journalists who have served the association in one way or another during the 2022/2023 academic session. 

 

The winners of the essay competition are:

Adesua Kehinde – Winner

Akanni Godspraise – First runner-up

Ogunwale Matthew – Second runner-up 

The ceremony ended on a note of joy and jubilation for all attendees.
