On the 16th of July, two Candidates contesting for the post of ESAN Director of Socials were disqualified by the Electoral Commission.
The Electoral Commission of the Education Students’ Association of Nigeria (ESAN), Obafemi Awolowo University Chapter, Ile-Ife, announced the disqualification of the two candidates due to some faults.
Following the release made by the Electoral Commission, Adebayo Temidayo Adewumi, a Part 3 student of Arts And Social Science Education, failed to appear at the screening venue violating the stipulated guidelines. This violation led to his disqualification from the race.
Meanwhile, Olla Emmanuel Olamide, also a Part 3 student of Arts and Social Science Education, did not meet certain criteria set by the commission, rendering him ineligible to contest.
The electoral commission emphasised that it strictly adhered to the listed criteria for each aspirant, and failure to meet these requirements would result in disqualification.
The disqualification of the two candidates has left only one candidate, Michaela, in the race for the position of Director of Socials.
The electoral commission has urged all ESANITES to come out and participate in the election process, which is scheduled to take place on Thursday 18th July at the faculty basement.
