APC Chairman, Ojelabi Congratulates Sanwo-Olu Following Court Ruling

The All Progressives Congress (APC) chapter in Lagos State has congratulated Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, over the appeallate court’s ruling, affirming their victory in the March 18 gubernatorial election.

The Lagos State APC Chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, commended the judiciary for the verdict in a statement released on Thursday.

The Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos on Wednesday dismissed issues raised by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, and the Labour Party candidate, Mr. Gbadebo Rhode-Viviour, against the election tribunal’s judgment.

The tribunal had earlier, on September 25, dismissed Adediran and Rhode-Vivour’s petition against Gov. Sanwo-Olu’s victory.

Ojelabi stated that the ruling of the Court of Appeal was an affirmation of the confidence placed in the government of Sanwo-Olu and his team by Lagos residents.

The party chairman stated that all the party’s leaders and members were delighted about the decision of the appellate court.

“I believe that the pronouncement of the court is a testament to the confidence that Lagos residents have in our party.

“This outcome laid credence to the ruling of the Lagos State Elections Petition Tribunal, which was also in our favour.

“The APC as a party appreciates the due diligence done by the Nigeria judiciary to arrive at this conclusion,” Ojelabi said.

Moreover, Ojelabi acknowledged the depth and thoroughness of the judicial process, attributing the affirmation to the credibility of the judicial system in the nation. He commended the Nigerian judiciary for its diligence and stressed the trustworthiness and reliability of the judicial process.

“The judicial process was thorough and deep, as all the issues were delved into without leaving any stone unturned.

“We, therefore, commend them for the this due diligence,“ he said.
