The management of Obafemi Awolowo University has reduced the tuition fees that were increased following a meeting with the Students’ Union.
The meeting which lasted for several hours on Monday, September 25th, 2023, came to an end with the University management agreeing to a reduction in fees payable by freshmen and returning students.
Recall that Obafemi Awolowo University school fees were hiked following a trend of school fee increments in many institutions. This led to the Students’ Union leadership clamouring for a 50% deduction in the proposed school fees.
According to a statement by the University Spokesman, Mr Abiodun Olanrewaju, “In a rare show of administrative magnanimity, the authorities of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, have readjusted downward the sundry charges payable by the students of the University.
