Wizkid announces Tour with rival, Davido

It appears like the battle for supremacy is finally over as Wizkid took to his Instagram page on Wednesday 18th, 2023 to make the announcement that he would be going on a tour with DMW’s boss, Davido.

The duo alongside Burna Boy are considered to be the biggest artistes in Nigeria in contemporary times. As a result of the apparent rivalry, their fans have always been divided over who is superior, with the two singers yet to release a song together. The singers have also thrown heavy digs at each other on different occasions.

“After my MLLE (more love, less ego) tour!! Davido and I going on tour! Save your coins! I ni wan hear pim.” Wizkid posted in his Instagram page.

Fans would recall that Wizkid postponed his MLLE tour following the loss of Davido’s son. Fans applauded this act as a show of love and respect.

The singer had also showed love to him at his MSG concert in November. The Grammy singer shutdown New York city with his sold-out concert at Madison Square Garden, where he sent love to the grieving singer.

During his concert, Wizkid’s personal Dj, DJ Tunez performed Davido’s 2011 hit song, Dami Duro to the admiration of the crowd.

Also last year, Wizkid had put rumours of bad blood with Davido to rest as he publicly declared love for him.u

During his performance on stage at 2022 Afronation in Portugal, Wizkid revealed how anytime he links up with a particular person, he is always preaching about unity.

Putting the words to life, Wizkid shocked many as he declared his love for both Burna Boy and Davido.

This divided the internet as the singers haven’t had a strong friendship over the years.

Many noted how Wizkid keeps going on and off with Davido, unlike his stable friendship with Burna Boy.

“Everytime I link up with my brother, he is always telling me good shit about unity and Afrobeats. I wanna tell you tonight Starboy got love for Burnaboy, I got love for Davido, I got love for every f**king body.’

“I wanna say thank you to the fans for supporting us and bringing us here to”, he said.

Davido, who is staying quiet on social media, as he continues to grieve his son, has reacted to the news.

Davido further fueled the tour announcement as he took to Tunde Ednut’s blog to like the post.

The internet has gone wild with joy over the good news. Many flock social media with heartwarming notes.
