Peter Obi Emerges Labour Party Presidential Candidate

Former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, emerged as the Labour Party presidential candidate ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Obi emerged winner at the Labour Party’s convention and presidential primary held on Monday in Asaba, Delta State.

185 delegates had been accredited to vote in the primary to elect one of the four presidential aspirants in the race for the party’s presidential ticket.

Obi later won the contest, after the three other co-aspirants announced their decision to step down for him, making him the only contestant.

The other presidential aspirants who stepped down are Professor Pat Utomi, Faduri Joseph and Olubusola Emmanuel-Tella.
