The Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) is celebrating a significant academic milestone with the appointment of Professor Bayode Isaiah Popoola, a distinguished scholar from the Faculty of Education, as the first substantive Vice-Chancellor of Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED) in Ondo.
Professor Popoola’s historic appointment marks a pivotal moment in the institution’s evolution, which has recently transitioned from a college to a full-fledged federal university. With decades of impactful service at OAU, Professor Popoola has held several key administrative roles, including Head of Department, Deputy Provost of the Postgraduate College, and Dean of the Faculty of Education. His academic contributions, demonstrated through numerous research publications and national recognitions, have established him as a thought leader in the Nigerian education sector.
