Bullying: Lead British International School Temporarily Closed

Just this afternoon, Lead British International School located in Abuja has been temporarily closed due to bullying involving some students in the school premises.

Following a disturbing video that went viral, the FCT police command has deployed its officers to the international school.

The video of the assault that went viral was posted by a concerned X user formally known as Twitter. The user made the SOS post alongside the video on Monday, April 22, at exactly 10:35

The X user wrote: “There’s a video I’m about to post. I need you guys to help me get justice for her. She was bullied in her school by her classmates at Lead British School, Abuja. Please make it go viral so she can get justice.”

After the first video, another evidence of assault surfaced online, from the same school.

This time, a male student was made to kneel among the bullies until another student luckily rescued him.

The leakage led to condemnation and outrage on social media.

The first video involved a female student being slapped repeatedly by another female student, in what looked like an interrogation session.

In response to the viral video, the head of Lead British International School, Abraham Ogunkambi, issued a statement stating the school’s displeasure concerning the incident.

He mentioned that the school management is treating the matter with utmost seriousness.

He said, “Lead British International School, Abuja is deeply concerned about the recent incident of bullying that has come to light and want to assure our school community and the public that we are taking this matter very seriously.

We are committed to providing a safe and supportive learning environment for all our students.

“Hence, upon learning of the incident, we initiated the process of reaching out to the victim and family with a view to providing support, including access to counseling services to help them cope with the emotional and psychological impact of the incident.”

As a result of the assault, Lead British International School has been temporarily closed for three days to settle the raging matter. Hopefully, this will serve as a lesson to other bullies.
