Members of InFocus News Agency stood out as some of the celebrated journalists of the 2023/2024 session at the just-concluded ACJOAU Dinner and Award Night.
The event, held on Sunday, 27th July 2025, marked the official handover of leadership within the Association of Campus Journalists, OAU (ACJOAU) and served as a moment of celebration and recognition for outstanding contributions in campus journalism.
Four members of InFocus received top honours:
Hairat Balogun – Best Female Campus Journalist
Currently serving as the Editor-in-Chief of InFocus News Agency, Hairat was recognised for her remarkable contributions and consistent dedication to quality reporting.
Ifeoluwa Popoola – Best Graduating Journalist
As the immediate past Editor-in-Chief, Ifeoluwa’s award reflects her lasting impact and leadership in campus journalism during her time at InFocus.
Mercy Ojo – Best Features Writer
A former Deputy-EIC, Mercy was awarded for her storytelling skills and her strength in delivering rich and engaging feature pieces.
Matthew Ogunwale – Best Sports Journalist
Known for his detailed sport news reports on sporting activities on and off campus. Matthew’s work earned him this deserved recognition.
