ESRC Constitutes Electoral Committee For ESAN Election ‎

‎The Education Student Representative Council (ESRC) at Obafemi Awolowo University, led by Rt. Hon. Speaker Oguntominiyi Adeoluwa constituted a long-awaited Electoral Committee and Petition Body on Friday to oversee the 2025 elections for the Education Students’ Association of Nigeria (ESAN).

‎Comrade Nasir Hameed chairs the newly formed committee, which includes 14 student leaders from various departments within the Faculty of Education. Other appointed officials are Comrade Jude as General Secretary, Comrade Soolih as Public Relations Officer, and Comrade Ola Damilola as Financial Secretary. The committee members also include Comrades Bólúwatifẹ́ Solomon, Adeolu Peter, Peter Adegoke, Okeovo Kingsley, Olukokun Ezekiel, Oluwasegun Victoria, Akinola Faridat, Olutola Olufunso, Ajao Uswat, and Salimon Ghoniyah.

‎Shortly after being established, the committee swiftly lifted the ban on electoral campaigns. In an official memo released on Friday evening, the Electoral Committee announced that aspirants and their supporters could begin campaigning for support immediately.

‎The committee urged all aspirants to adhere to the ESAN constitution and electoral guidelines, emphasising the importance of respectful, issue-based, and development-focused campaigns. They encouraged all participants to focus on leadership, service, and development in their campaigns.

‎The Electoral Committee is now tasked with conducting and supervising all aspects of the election, handling petitions, and ensuring the transparency of the electoral process.
